Projects
Vodafone / Webruntimes
Webruntimes are a mobile phone environment to access phone capabilities through Javascript API's from HTML pages/Applications running in a browser (the webruntime). Vodafone was engaged early in this technology bringing it to production acompanied by others leading companies in this sector (Opera Software) and founded the first consortium (JIL) together with other mobile network providers and software companies. In the past, JIL was consumed by (WAC) and consists of over 60 mobile companies, incl. Verizon ©_, Deutsche Telekom ©_, Samsung ©_, LG ©_, China Mobile ©_, etc.
In this project, I am responsible for the end2end development PM, testing, integration and lifecycle Management of different webruntimes. This includes versions from different vendors (Opera ©_, Samsung ©_, Nokia ©_, etc.) and the necessary communication in largely distributed teams. All projects were run in parallel and together with other workstreams and required a high ability to focus on delivery.
Apart from the integration work, we developed a testsuite for mobile and desktop application which was used to reduce the overall fragmentation across different runtime environments, and which is the basis for compatibility testing and getting comparable results. This testsuite was open sourced in 2011 and becomes a high respected testenvironment for mobile browser testing of any kind.

Atanion / Tobago (JSF)
The goal of Tobago is to provide the community with a well designed set of user interface components based on JSF and run on MyFaces.
Tobago is more than just a tag library. The following statements characterize Tobago and make it different from other frameworks:
- The focus of Tobago is to create business applications without the need for HTML design. The development of Tobago pages follows more the development of conventional user interfaces than the creation of web pages.
- The UI components are abstracted from HTML and any layout information that does not belong to the general page structure. The final output format is determined by the client/user-agent.
- A theming mechanism makes it easy to change the look and feel and to provide special implementations for certain browsers. A fallback solution ensures that as much code is reused for new themes as possible.
- A layout manager is used to arrange the components automatically. This means, no manual laying out with HTML tables or other constructs is needed.
My role: My responsibility was to create cross browser function UI components using Java, CSS and HTML.
